ionaIona Beange
Iona did a degree in Biomedical Science at Aberdeen University before moving to Edinburgh to do her PhD in Neuroscience. She caught the Science Communication 'bug' ten years ago as an undergraduate, and has not looked back since. Iona also works at the National Museums Scotland, presenting science shows. When she finds some spare time, she likes singing, amateur dramatics and dancing.
timTim Reid
Tim has been involved in various research projects that have nurtured a passion for the environment. He graduated in Physics with Meteorology at the University of Edinburgh before going on to a PhD and PostDoc at the University of Nottingham - which included exciting fieldwork in the Antarctic. He started work with the Roadshow after returning to Edinburgh in 2007. In addition Tim works as a freelance science journalist, and enjoys music, rock-climbing and volunteer conservation work.
lizElizabeth Stevenson
Elizabeth returned to Higher education as a mature student in 1992 and studied part-time to obtain an Honours degree in chemistry from the Royal Society of Chemistry and then a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 1998. Her interest in chemistry began at school when she found out that an element like carbon could exist in such diverse forms as soot, graphite and most importantly, diamond!!! Public Engagement with Science and Schools’ Outreach is now officially part of her remit for the School of Chemistry. Her interests include dancing and plants and her favourite chemistry experiment is the reaction of hydrogen peroxide with potassium permanganate aka the ‘four-foot-flame’!

The Renewable Energy Roadshow is a unique collaborative network comprising Edinburgh Woodcraft Folk; School of Chemistry, Edinburgh University; School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh; and School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University.

The Renewable Energy Roadshow is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council through their Public Engagment programme.
